Oil and Gas Industry:

Senior Scheduler

 

IMS agency employee, Anchorage, AK

 

BP Exploration Alaska I developed the Master Schedule for the Liberty Project. The Liberty Project consisted of building the largest drill rig in the world capable of drilling the longest well in the world (approx. 8 miles). Utilizing Primavera 6.1 software developed the Liberty project CPM Master schedule consisting of the following Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) work scope elements:

 

·  Drill Rig

o  Scheduled engineering, fabrication, assembly, and testing of the drill rig.

o  Prepared a written progress narrative explaining impacts of variances to the baseline and critical path.

 

·  Building a 20 acre expansion to the existing Drilling Island.

o  Scheduled all infrastructure contracting, procurement and installation activities. Prepared graphics for management review to show status against the baseline for each element.

o  Updated infrastructure schedule progress weekly, set up weekly progress meetings with each manager to review progress against the baseline and developed work around schedules to mitigate impacts.

o  Developed weekly engineering and procurement status report format for the engineering firm to submit showing progress of drawings and procurement.

o  Produced a monthly procurement status narrative report speaking to variances of critical material and the impacts.  Worked with the facility manager and engineering leads to develop work around schedules to mitigate impacts.

 

·  Production Modules

o  Developed schedules for engineering, procurement and fabrication and installation of all electrical, mechanical piping, and instrumentation infrastructure to support the development of drilling eight new wells.

o  Reviewed contractor’s weekly fabrication schedule and prepared a written narrative report showing progress against the baseline schedule. Worked with the engineering lead to develop work around schedules to mitigate impacts.

o  Prepared a written process for integrating the Primavera schedule system and the PRISM cost system

 

Transportation Infrastructure Projects:

June 2006- November 2007

 

Lead Project Control Specialist with engineering firm Hatch Mott MacDonald (HMM) on the Alaska Way Viaduct Project Seattle, WA. Project size was $3-$4 billion, client Washington State Department of Transportation. The project was a replacement of an elevated freeway. HMM had the program management contract for the project.

 

·  Developed the project WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), and Master Schedule for the eleven year project using P3 5.0. 

·  Developed and assisted in the development of the Enterprise and Organizational Breakdown structures, global and enterprise coding, and program layouts.

·  Developed six different construction replacement scenarios consisting of a street option, a tunneling option, an elevated option, and three lesser options. Worked with the City of Seattle, the Port of Seattle, King County and state of Washington transportation department to supply “What if Schedules” to measure time of construction, cash flow, and impacts to businesses, Port of Seattle access and egress, and traffic.

·  Performed monthly critical path analysis of the engineering effort by lead firm Parsons Brinkerhoff. Compared monthly progress against the baseline schedule and produce progress graphics for senior management.

·  Developed an extensive schedule for tracking the EIS (environmental impact statement) for each construction scenario.

 

International Projects

Iraq July 2005- June 2006

Washington Group International (WGI):

 

Scheduling Manager for all company infrastructure projects in Iraq (electrical and water): Scheduling department had eight expatriate scheduler’s three local national schedulers and one expatriate estimator. Project scope included electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure and water upgrades in southern Iraq.

·  Responsible for reviewing and preparation of internal and external scheduling progress reports to the client. (Army Corp of Engineers) 

·  Reviewed budgets, percent complete and earned value data for accuracy as well as weekly schedule progress variances. 

·  Provided solutions to scheduling problems, provided direction and taught Primavera scheduling software and CPM scheduling concepts to third country nationals.

·  Interfaced with cost manager for confirmation of schedule cost data and earned value data.

·  Responsible for establishing scheduling goals and policies for MECP (Middle East Construction Projects) in Iraq as well as interfacing with the client on all scheduling activities and meetings.

 

Parsons Engineering and Construction Iraq:

·  Responsibility included scheduling and budgeting of 50 health clinics and 5 hospitals in southern Iraq. 

·  Monthly reviewing and changing construction logic with input from Task Mangers to determine realistic project end dates.

·  Performed bi-weekly budget reviews, percent complete and earned value data for accuracy, updated and reviewed schedule and budget progress, prepared progress reports for the Project Control Manger and Project Director.

Sound Transit Light Rail Project Controls Specialist 12/97 to June 2005

 

Project Control Specialist in the Light Rail Division.  Developed Project Control contract specifications and project control department scheduling policies and procedures.  Developed baseline program schedule, reviewed contractor schedules and updated and maintained program master schedule.
